LeiLani Quiray

LeiLani’s fun fact: She ice climbs! She loves to get out in nature and do various mountaineering activities like ice climbing (crazy, we know), snow and rock climbing, backpacking, and camping. LeiLani also loves good food especially pizza with pineapple on it. She’s passionate about creating a business that not only does HR but also helps the community by teaching disadvantaged people job readiness skills and donating to various nonprofit organizations.

What LeiLani loves about HR: She always says that HR is it is NEVER boring. She’s a student of the ever-changing landscape of HR and a champion of creating happy, healthy workplace experiences. She often says “If you cry at work more than once per year, something is wrong.” She has made it her mission to change the workplace into a better place for all.

Experience: LeiLani has over 20 years of experience in HR spanning numerous industries and companies large and small. Her passion to learn keeps her up-to-date on all things HR.

Massiel Batista

Massiel’s fun fact: She is part of the Queer Latin Dance Group out in LA. She loves to dance, complete puzzles, and go rollerskating. Massiel is passionate about the advancement, fair treatment, and equal rights of BIPOC & LGBTQ+ communities.

What she loves about HR: Massiel loves to find creative solutions to businesses’ challenges and improve the lives of those she works with.

Experience: Massiel has 10 years of experience working in operations management before transitioning to HR. She has also worked in HR in various industries including food & beverage, hospitality, and the medical field.

Valerie Battles

Valerie’s fun facts: Valerie loves to travel and has visited six continents! She also enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, photography, and health & wellness. Valerie is passionate about the environment, nature, reducing waste, and mentoring

What she loves about HR: Valerie loves that HR requires continuous learning and gives her the ability to help people in and out of the workplace. Valerie also gets to fulfill her passion for mentoring by offering employment advice and sharing her professional experiences as a source of information and inspiration.

Experience: Valerie has worked in various human resources positions for more than 25 years including VP of Human Resources for an insurance services organization. She also has more than 15 years of experience as an HR Consultant working with small and medium-sized businesses.

Laurie Dever

Laurie’s fun fact: Laurie is actually a musician. She plays the bagpipes and she’s gone to play them for funerals, parades, weddings, and other events. In her free time, she likes to volunteer at Feedmore (an organization that prepares meals for those in need), walk her dogs, work out, play pickleball, and of course, play the bagpipes. Laurie is passionate about the humane treatment of people & animals, especially those who cannot speak for themselves.

What she loves about HR: Laurie loves that there is a lot of problem-solving and she gets to help with employee relations. She likes to bring people together to talk and resolve issues. She loves that HR is all about people and problem-solving.

Experience: Laurie recently retired from a 25-year career in HR, with the majority of the time working in non-profits at the executive or VP level. She has experience in most functions of HR, leadership, development, and coaching staff!

Raul Pereyra

Fun Fact about Raul: He was classmates with Oscar De La Hoya (Golden Boy) at Garfield High School. Raul was born and raised in East Los Angeles and is the youngest of three siblings. He likes fixing things around his house and doing minor auto mechanic work. He enjoys working with his hands, cooking, and being a faithful husband and father to 2 young children. Raul is passionate about family and building relationships.

What he loves about HR: Raul loves to focus on helping people. He likes the relationships we build as HR consultants and being able to negotiate to make sure things run smoothly.

Randee Walker

Fun fact about Randee: She went to Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia. She likes anything outdoors including hiking, biking, visiting the beach, traveling, attending her children’s ice hockey games, and watching musical theater. Randee is passionate about keeping her integrity, staying healthy, and raising her kids to work hard for what they want with outstanding morals and integrity.

What she loves about HR: Randee was born for this role! HR gives her a sense of satisfaction when she can help others be their best selves in the workplace.

Experience: Randee is an HR Professional with over 20 years of experience providing guidance and leadership to staff and senior management in both small and large organizations. She’s held several senior-level directorships in HR and has built a reputation for developing dynamic teams with the most important company asset, people. She lives for problem-solving and her passion is employee relations, coaching, training, and mentoring. Randee’s strong background and leadership provide her with the ability to step into a business and successfully assist teams in achieving and maintaining their HR goals including compliance, defining and implementing training programs, recruiting and retention, employee engagement, benefits, and more. Genevieve Webster

Fun fact about Genevieve: She’s met the Queen of England! Genevieve likes outdoorsy activities like camping and hiking. She also likes spending time with her pets, knitting, and crocheting. Genevieve is passionate about her family and raising her son to be an amazing person in this ever-changing world.

What she loves about HR: Genevieve loves that there is always something new to do each day. There is never the same day twice.

Experience: Genevieve has over 14 years of HR experience and she takes joy in helping others fulfill career potential, with a bias for action, openness to change, and a sense of humor.

Bon Sanchez

Fun Fact about Bon: Bon likes to sing When he’s bored, happy, or sad, he can do karaoke alone for 2 – 4 hours. 🙂 When he was young,  he always went to the beach with his siblings and friends to swim and practice singing. They say that when you are in the water, it’s good exercise for your lungs and your breathing. Every time there is an occasion or family gathering at home, karaoke is always present. His whole family likes karaoke, it’s their bonding time together.

What he loves about HR: Bon loves HR because it serves as the bridge between the employee and the employer. They listen and make sure that every concern is handled properly. 

Experience:  Bon has 5 years of experience in delivering quality customer service via phone, chat, and email. He has worked with different top-notch companies in providing solutions to the concerns raised by customers. This experience taught him how to deal with different types of people and helped them address their reasons for contact. Being able to provide resolution, gives him a certain level of satisfaction and makes his job fulfilling.
